DegreeMAP FAQs
What programs are on DegreeMAP?
DegreeMAP is available for degree and certificate students who matriculated in fall 2010 and beyond (or fall 2019 and beyond for LLM and JD students). MD, SJD, and MLS programs are not currently using DegreeMAP.
Who will have access to DegreeMAP?
DegreeMAP will be available for students and advisors via GWeb. Students will only have access to their own information, and advisors will be able to access the information for their advisees.
What is a "What If…" audit?
"What If…" audits allow a student to explore the requirements for an alternate program of study without changing their declared major. "What If..." audits can be a useful tool for students considering a major change because it will show a complete picture of the requirements including all deficiencies before the student actually changes his or her major. Students can visit their advisor to run "What If..." audits.
What if my academic history isn’t being applied the way I expect it to be?
DegreeMAP is an advising tool. Included with this application is a powerful exception handling capability to allow for Schools and Colleges to grant exceptions for individual students on individual requirements. If your academic history is not being applied the way you expect, please contact your academic advisor.
How does DegreeMAP help students?
The ability for students to monitor their progress toward program completion and review outstanding requirements prior to registration periods reduces confusion, and in some cases can reduce time-to-degree. The use of DegreeMAP brings a measure of consistency to the application of University and School/College rules.
Who do I contact if I have questions about DegreeMAP?
If you have questions regarding any information presented in DegreeMAP you should contact your academic advisor, or an academic advisor within your School or College.
